New York City Gay Men’s Chorus

NYCGMC is the founding member of Big Apple Performing Arts, Inc.(BAPA), Since 1979 their shared mission is, as a gay-identified organization, to entertain and educate our audiences and ourselves and to make a positive contribution to the entire community. We achieve this purpose by serving as an umbrella for developing and managing performing groups and individual performers.

The 2015-2016 concert season marks the 37th season for the New York City Gay Men's Chorus (NYCGMC). Founded in 1979 to create music that transforms lives and promotes social acceptance, the group performs classical and contemporary male choral music as proud, openly gay men.

York City Gay Men’s Chorus (NYCGMC), has appeared at such world-class venues as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall and performed alongside a roster of stars – Liza Minnelli, Stephen Sondheim, Marilyn Horne, Barbara Cook, Victoria Clark, Liz Callaway, Carol Channing, Joel Grey and Eartha Kitt – to name only a few. From Town Hall to City Hall, from the advent of AIDS to the struggle for marriage equality for over thirty years NYCGMC and its over 200 members have been producing innovative programs, and serving the LGBT community. NYCGMC is a member of the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses (GALA), the world’s only association committed to serving the LGBT choral movement. NYCGMC is also a proud member of the New York Choral Consortium (NYCC).

NYCGMC is a 501c 3 not-for-profit arts organization. Donations are tax deductible, as allowed by law. Employer tax id # 13-3082972
